On3 know that the key to building a reputation for service excellence is to improve efficiency without increasing cost.

So when On3 took over maintaining and developing the 30 plus fleet of Cheltenham manufacturer Premiere Products On3 knew precisely where to start.

"If ever there was a customer that had under maintained, over specified trucks, then this was it," says On3's Rob Jefferies.

A medium sized company with a large manufacturing and storage site in Cheltenham Premiere Products had amassed a number of different makes of forklifts and industrial equipment "the fact that there used to be a daily site visit by an engineer, gives you an indication that there was something wrong with the long term strategy."

Preventative maintenance is now carried out by an On3 engineer just once a week.

Another surprise came when On3 suggested that the company did not use some of their trucks enough to justify spending money on new equipment. In fact, they purchased two pre owned power pallet trucks for the price of one new one.

"There are lots of ways we save companies money and part of our approach is to conduct a 'needs analysis' - in other words we don't take at face value what other suppliers have said is needed."

"More often then not, we can save costs by cutting out a number of machines and making the remainder more useful and dependable."
